Jessica is originally from Stockholm, Sweden and has more than 15 years experience from education to developing teams and organisation. Since Jessica moved to Hong Kong in July 2016, she has studied in the field of digital learning and digital competencies as well as taking the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Hong Kong. Last school year Jessica was working as a substitute teacher in HKA. Jessica is now very excited and happy to join the school as 5ai co-teacher. Jessica lives in Sai Kung with her husband and three children, all students at HKA.
Kimberley Fung (Ms. Kim)
Kimberley Fung is originally from Hong Kong, and has studied and taught both here and in the UK. She graduated from the University of York with a BA in Music and received her PGDE in Special Education from Hong Kong University. Ms Kim feels very fortunate to be in her eighth year at HKA, where every year continues to bring new adventures and challenges. Outside of the classroom, she can be found paddling with the school dragon boat team, editing her photos of Hong Kong street scenes, or eating something delicious (and probably spicy!). Ms Kim is thrilled to be working, learning, and growing with the Grade 4 and Grade 5 students, families, and teachers this year.
Carly Buntin (Ms. Carly)
Originally from the UK, Carly grew up in Hong Kong and attended both primary and secondary school here. She completed her Bachelors degree in Religious Studies at Lancaster University in England, and later specialised in Primary Education as a postgraduate student at Monash University in Australia. She has experience teaching nearly every grade level within primary schools. She has taught at Hong Kong Academy for 7 years in addition to other international schools in Hong Kong and London. Outside of school, she spends most of her time with her energetic two year old and newborn daughter!
Todd Colfelt (Mr. Colfelt)
Todd grew up in Seattle, Washington. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Classics and Kindergarten - Grade 8 Teacher Certification from Seattle Pacific University and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Michigan State University. Todd has taught grades 2 - 8 in schools in Seattle, the Philippines, and Japan. He also worked as a writer for over 10 years at Microsoft and Amazon. He’ll be joining his family here at HKA. His wife, Amy, is a secondary school counselor, and their two children are in grades 9 and 7. Todd enjoys running, reading, live music, and spending time with his family. He's really looking forward to working with the grade five students, their families, and staff this year.
